Real threads
2, 3 or 4 mm pitch, 60° profile.
Generate a jar with a real screw-on lid, in any diameter and height, with adjustable clearance and a grip on the lid. Prints without supports. Free and online.
Screw-top jars keep spices, screws, herbs, seeds and beads without opening by themselves. This generator makes real threads (60° profile) on the neck and inside the lid, with the clearance you choose.
The inside rises at 45° to the mouth, so the jar prints without supports. The lid prints top-down and has ridges around it for grip.
2, 3 or 4 mm pitch, 60° profile.
0.2 to 0.8 mm so the thread turns smoothly.
The inside rises at 45° to the neck.
Ridges around the lid (optional).
Jar and lid as separate parts.
Increase the clearance (0.5–0.6 mm) and check that the first layer is not squished (elephant foot), which narrows the lid thread.
Printed plastic has gaps between layers where dirt can stay. For food, use PETG and prefer dry goods, or a bag inside.
Not fully. For liquids, add an O-ring on the neck or thread seal tape.
